Supply Chain Solution for Major Retailer


A major retailer of construction and casual apparel was seeking a third-party logistics solution to an upcoming capacity constraint as they broadened their product lines and distribution channels. While their core capabilities were highly efficient, they needed improved operational flexibility to grow the business.


We partnered with their technology provider and executed an analysis to better understand the business segmentation and select the business units that best leveraged their current distribution capabilities. This enabled their growth strategy to determine the most rapidly deployable and cost effective solution. We then schematically designed the facility, operational model, and estimated the capital costs to implement the solution, enabling a raP&ID and informed negotiation with the selected provider.


The retailer attained an on schedule and within budget implementation for this urgent and essential change to their supply chain. It was accompanied by defined initiatives to improve operational planning and forecasting that arose as a threat to success during the strategy development and implementation planning.
